I've been down. I've seen trouble on the rise.
I see curses on the skyline, but it's clearin' up my mind.
There's some light in the things that make us fear,
But I fear there's something darker lurking in the atmosphere.
You're only lost on a pitch black night, so don't be scared.
I'll be the wind in your hair.
It's weighing down, so I kicked that fucker to the creek,
I let it go. I let it wash away.
You feel that sound? I can hear it all around us.
Shapes out here are odd and twisted, it's nothing that I've seen before.
There's nowhere to turn, cause I've lost all my trust.
I am finally finished. None for all, and all for none.
When you're lost, when you're down and out, I'll be there.
I'll be the wind in your hair.
But through it all, there's just nothing left to say.
So I'll just go. Yeah, I'll be on my way.
Black tar melts in the heat under the sun.
The air around me lashes out in a rage.
How could I stop to think about myself?
The only choice I have's to get out of the way.
They're never gonna have a heart, so just call to the fire.
When they run out of souls to sell, they'll just start it expire.
Brush the dust up off of yourselves, dawn your had and head to the woods.
Call to the fire.
Concrete cracks from the pressure down below.
A bright bloom bursts up through the crack.
Chaos reins and I don't have time to think.
The only choice I have is to run with the pack.
There comes a time when you're short of an excuse.
When the line you try to walk is crooked and bent.
Realize that they're evil without haste.
Open up your throat,
Call to the fire.
Expired Film is a small passion project by good friends Dillon of Skeleton Drive and Jo Rodriguez. The two originals and four covers explore themes of love for yourself and others up to and including radical direct action to affect social change, all through the medium of an indie folk soundscape.
